The Trinamool Congress has raised allegations of a conspiracy behind the arrest of former food Minister and current forest minister Jyotipriya Mallick in a ration corruption case. TMC leader Mamata Banerjee herself has issued a warning to the central government and the BJP, stating that these actions are politically motivated.
State Food Minister Rathin Ghosh led a procession in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas, where he asserted that the BJP is apprehensive of TMC's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee's efforts to demand state dues, leading to acts of retaliation. Ghosh contended that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are being used to target TMC leaders and ministers out of spite. The current Food Minister categorically stated, "This is a conspiracy of BJP."
During the rally, Rathin Ghosh questioned whether these arrests were connected to the 100-day work and housing scheme led by Abhishek Banerjee. He expressed concern over the central agencies, CBI and ED, allegedly being used to harass TMC members. The TMC's stance remains firm, with the party vehemently opposing what it perceives as politically motivated actions by the central government and BJP.
